Artemis I, previously known as Exploration Mission-1 (EM-1), was an uncrewed mission launched in November 2022 to orbit the Moon. The mission served as the inaugural flight test of the Orion spacecraft and the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, focusing on testing Orion's heat shield in preparation for future Artemis missions.
