The Mitsubishi A6M5 Zero Type 52a, known to the Allies simply as the “Zero”, was Japan’s most famous and feared naval fighter of World War II. Despite being outmatched by newer Allied fighters like the F6F Hellcat and F4U Corsair, the A6M5 Zero Type 52a remained a deadly opponent in the hands of skilled pilots.
