They were characterized by a high level of build quality combining mobility operational flexibility and offensive capacity. The project formed an excellent mix of speed on all terrain protection and firepower and was able to summarize the operational experience that the Wehrmacht had gathered in the early years of World War II. It could reach a maximum speed of 85 km/h on the road. Among the various versions made the Sd.Kfz. 234/1 often played the role of control vehicle.
