Description "Tokitsukaze" was the tenth ship of the Kagero class destroyers, and at the start of the Pacific War, the four ships "Hatsukaze", "Yukikaze", "Amatsukaze", and "Tokitsukaze" formed the 16th Destroyer Squadron. She participated in the Battle of Surabaya, the Second Battle of the Solomons, and the Battle of the South Pacific, but in March 1943, when she sailed from Rabaul with other destroyers to escort a convoy, she was attacked by U.S. aircraft, hit by a bomb, disabled, and abandoned.
