Production of the SSA-100 Heavy Cargo Tractor started in 1936. The SSA-100 could tow two trailers with a combined weight of 20 tons at 40km/h. By the starts of WWII almost all production vehicles were for military use either with engineer units of the Wehrmacht or for Luftwaffe transport - particularly for towing large aircraft.
