The twin-engine wide-body airliner Airbus A330-200 was created to replace the A300-600R. It first took to the air in 1997. It received a shortened and fuselage enlarged keel. Due to the reduction in flight weight, the flight range increased compared to the A300-300 and amounted to 15,094 km.
