The main differences between Challenger and its predecessor Chieftain are the Challenger’s Rolls Royce CV-12 diesel engine, which produces 1,200bhp, far more powerful than the Chieftain engine, and the state-of-the-art Chobham Armour, which gives very high protection levels against anti armour weapons.
